Текст слайда: Charlie Chaplin was born April 16, 1889 in London, at 8:00 pm, outside the East Lane, Walworth in a family of artists in the music hall. His parents - Charles Chaplin Sr. and Hannah Chaplin (on stage Lily Gurley) - were stand-up actors. Early years in England () Charlie Chaplin was born in London in a family of actors of Music Hall. His parents Charles Spenser Chaplin- senior and Hanna Chaplin (on a scene Poured Gerli) were variety actors.

The glory to Chaplin was brought by mute cinema and though the sound had appeared in films in 1927, Charlie remained true to the old film techniques even the whole decade.






The beginning of persecutions in the USA In 1952 Chaplin created a film "Festoon Lightings". On September, 17th, 1952 Chaplin went to London on the world premiere of this film, and the Head of FBI Edgar Hoover banned the return entrance of the actor to the USA. Chaplin lodged in Switzerland, in a small town.
«The King in New York» In 1957 Chaplin stared in the film «The king in New York». In 1964 Chaplin published the memoirs which he laid down in a basis of a biographic feature film "Chaplin".


"Rehabilitation" In 1972 Chaplin received honorable "Oscar" for the second time. For this purpose he arrived to the USA for short time. He was given out only limited visa. On March, 4th, 1975 Chaplin was devoted in knights by queen Elizabeth II. 26

Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin ,(16 April 1889 – 25 December 1977)was born in Walworth, London. He was an English comic actor and a film director of a silent film. He became one of the well-known film stars in the world at the end of the First World War.

His parents, Spenser and Hanna Chaplin, were actors and singers. His mother sang songs and danced at the stages of various theatres. His father had rare baritone - in the middle of 1880s he was very famous in London music halls.

Chaplin played more than 70 parts in the films in his life. He always had a hat on and he always carried a walking stick. He never smiled, but his appearance and his tricks at the stage even without a word made people laugh.

Chaplin was married four times and he had twelve children. But only Geraldina Chaplin became an actress but she wasn’t as successful as her father. People still remember him, like him and watch his films with great pleasure. He was a very talented person!

His father died in 1901 when Charlie was twelve. His mother had a problem with her mind after her husband’s death, and Charlie and his elder stepbrother Sydney lived in Coulsdon. Their father"s friend sent the boys to Archbishop Temples School for boys. Then, the boys and his mother were sent to Lambete where the boys could work and earn for their living. From the age of 16 Chaplin regularly played a violin for 4-16 hours a day, took lessons from the conductor of one of the local theatres. Later playing the music became the only way of earning money.

People still remember him, like him and watch his films with great pleasure. He was a very talented person! He was a brilliant actor!
